SEPHORA COLLECTION 8 HR Mattifying Compact Foundation

WHAT IT CLAIMS

This oil-free compact foundation instantly mattifies with results that last for up to eight hours, revealing a natural, flawless complexion with zero shine all day long. Along with containing micronized pigments that blend into the skin, this wonder foundation reduces the appearance of pores, evens out the complexion, and hides imperfections for a perfectly smooth complexion..

PACKAGING

Let's first look at the packaging, It's fatter than MAC's Studio Fix. The powder comes in a round compact. Underneath the powder pan is a dual-side sponge and a mirror. I like that it has a separate compartment for the powder puff.

Two differently coloured sides of the sponge serve to give various degree of coverage – the white side is for light coverage and the black side is for heavy coverage. I find that both sides apply the foundation too heavy for my liking. Instead, I apply it with a powder brush.

SCENT & TEXTURE

It from the mineral series and unscented. So, if your sensitive to fragrances in product you can use it easily. Texture of the powder is buttery smooth, and Coverage is light to full depending on how you apply it

DOES IT WORKS?
The big plus for this one is that, this is from the Mineral Cosmetics line of Sephora. It's paraben- free, so you don't have to worry about harsh chemicals touching your skin. As it's also unscented so you don't have to worry about perfume clogging your pores.
The powder seems pretty dense – you can tell that it is made to cover. The foundation does minimizes the appearance of pores up to quite an extent. However,to cover acne completely you need to layer it
The thing I like about this powder is, there's no need to wet the sponge to apply or increase coverage, which you have to do with many cake /compacts. To increase the covereage of the foundation, you just need to use the right side of the sponge according to the coverage you require.
Even being a powder foundation its still not drying neither it feels chalky.   For the lightest coverage dust it using a big fluffy brush.I usually use a large fluffy brush to buff it into my skin.It works well for the oil control. Im in the Shade D30 (Match to nc 20).
I have tried the powder on its own as well as with liquid foundation underneath and it works great for both. It really gives a flawless looking finish that looks as though I have no makeup on.*
BEST IF YOU WANT TO

If you want decent coverage over skin, good oil control and you are short of time in applying your foundation. This one is quite similar to Mac Studio Fix, I like this one more.

FAQ's

Shades : This compact comes in a few shades (fair, medium, tan/dark) and most importantly, SEPHORA came up with two undertone shades. The ‘D’ in D30 means Dore (Gold in French), which means it’s suitable for warm or yellow undertones. ‘R’ or Rose (pink) is suitable for those with cool undertones.

WILL I REPURCHASE IT?

Yes,I would . This is considered a dupe of Mac Studio Fix, I like this one more when I want a more natural finish.I really like that the texture improves as the day goes and skin's natural oil „melts“ the powder. It did not break me out and it didn't oxidize.
