Flawless and glowing skin is what we all dream about but sadly not all of us are blessed with it. However you can create a perfect skin by using the right foundation and concealer which not only matches your shade of skin tone but also your skin undertone. But picking the right foundation one can be a little tricky. And knowing about your undertone will not just make your foundation selection easy but it’s also extremely important to know about them, as where the right selection can give you a glowy skin the wrong selection can give you a dull, muddy or ashy  grey appearance ,leaving you with a sensation that as if you’re wearing a mask. It’s one of the major reasons are that you might be using the right skin tone but a wrong undertone.

So, today I will tackle with this tricky yet important term that everyone should have a understanding of: undertone. If you have every tried to buy a foundation you must have surely came across this work. And many beauty tutorials tell you that certain makeup looks compliments a undertone more than the other, but all of it isn’t helpful unless you don’t know what does it actually means.

SKIN TONE vs. UNDERTONE
Undertone is often confused with skin tone by many, while they are not the same things.so first let’s clear this out.
·         SKIN TONE is the tone which you see on the surface of the skin is your SKIN TONE, which is often described as light, medium, deep and so one.
·         An Undertone is the color that lies beneath your skin. It’s almost like a shadow below your skin.
·         Your skin tone can change it can either get brighter or deeper with tanning but your undertone never changes.
·         All skin tones range within three major undertones.
o    COOL- (red, pink, bluish shades)...
o    NEURTRAL –( a mix between warm and cold so any orange or green for …)
o    WARM – (yellow, gold...)
o    Some advisors add olive tones as a separate green shade while it’s not required because technically they fall under the warm undertone.

Once you get to understand your skin and undertones more, you can start to use it to your benefit. By knowing your skin colors more your will find it much easier to get the right foundation shade. In fact you can change your hair colors better now because then you won’t have to worry either the new hue in your hairs will suit your skin tone or not. And you can pick your blushers and lipsticks much better that can bring out the best in your skin. And I hope now it will be easier to understand your shades better.
