Strobing (or reverse contouring) supposedly started as a French trend, as a way of of emphasizing the beauty in a person’s face rather than changing the face altogether through contouring. Basically, it’s contouring without the dark bits.

There are pro’s and con’s to using strobing over contouring. Strobing can definitely make you look more youthful, and so it’s great if you’re looking for a make up look that is anti-aging. A little guide on how to do strobing. When using products for this look stay away from anything matte the point of this look is a dewy finish!

While it sounds like it's totally less maintenance than contouring, don't be fooled—this look requires healthy, naturally-glowing skin as its base, which, as you know, calls for a disciplined skincare regimen(cleansing and moisturizing daily) and a clean healthy diet. Plus, if you want to take it a step further, bi-weekly face masks you can try at home are a necessary extravagance
As far as application, here are two tried-and-true tips for a strobe-like effect:

1) Fuse your skincare and makeup together as much possible for a dewy, wet-shine finish. For example, if you're going to use concealer, add moisturizer to it.

2) Add shine to the areas of your face that catch light naturally, this is the most step of strobing: highlighting all the right places. It’s all about brightening up your face, so think of where the light naturally would hit you. Dab a highlighter onto the apples of your cheeks, the bridge of your nose and your cupid’s bow to highlight the main areas of your face. You can also apply it to the inner corners of your eyes, your brow bone, your chin and the center of your forehead

In my opinion I think I love contouring too much to get rid of it 100% but strobing is pretty. For day time strobing is more suitable and I would contour at night. And also strobing can be a turn down for me as I am not blessed with a super smooth skin, but anyone who posses a good skin can rock the look.
Would you guys say bye to contouring and say hello to strobbng?

Stay Gorgeous,
