DRY SKIN: Skin care Advice


   
Dry skin is works in a totally opposite plan compared to oily skin. Rather than producing more oil it works vice versa and produces less oil (sebum) than that is actually essential and required by the skin to keep it lubricated and which is required to keep it in perfect condition, so due to this lack of moisture it appears and feels very dry and stretchy most of the times. Dry skin has the following characteristics:
-        --  It’s usually very thin and appears dull
-        --  Appears flaky and scaly
-        --  Has fine lines most of the time
-        --  Feels very rough, and stretchy
-        --  Dry skin has very small or invisible pores
-          Acne occurs quite seldom in this skin time
Now on one side where dry skin has the good points of having no pore visibility issues or acne, black/white head issues. The sad part of this skin type is they are the most prone to early aging many people in fact start showing signs of ageing before time, if not proper care and regime is followed.

RECOMMENDED REGIME FOR DRY SKIN:

  A basic skin regime no matter what skin type consist of a few basic steps/products a cleanser, a toner ,moisturizer, an exfoliating scrub and a face mask. Now of which genre these all of these mentioned products have to be used differs among skin types. No, you can’t use the same thing for all skin types. For dry skin it’s stated below:
CLEANSER:
Avoid soaps at all cost on face. They tend to dry out the skin even more. Look for gentle cleansers which have less content of alcohol and with mark “For dry skin”. Milk, it E and Oil based cleanser are advisable.
TONER:
Toner is an essential step for all skin types, even if we are talking about dry skin. A non-drying gentle toner is advisable. Witch hazel can be very harsh for dry skin. Rose based and glycerin based toners are advised.
EXFOLIATION:
Exfoliation is also imp for dry skin; because oil control is not only a single task that exfoliation caters. Another major task that it carries out is removing the dead cells which are most of the time reason for the appearance of dull skin. Exfoliation should not be done frequently in the case of dry skin. Once a week or in the case of very dry skin bi weekly would be enough to keep it clean. A mix of almond oil and sugar acts as a good exfoliator for dry skin.
MOISTURIZE:
Now, this step is the most important one for dry skin. Because in this you will feed your skin with all the moisture from which it is deprived. Fatty oil based, glycerin based moisturizers work good. How much intense to work on this step depends entirely on the condition of the skin. Moisturization needs to be done daily.
FACE PACKS:
Face packs could be used weekly, to aid the moisture content further and to freshen up dull effect the skin may have. Dark chocolate based face packs works really well to add in some nutrients to the skin.
