MAC Giambattista Valli Collection Review and Swatches

As-salam-O-Alykum...Glam'Yees...
If you follow me on Instagram, you have already seen my MAC recent haul of their Giambattista Valli Collection.
The MAC Giambattista Valli Collection is the most gorgeous, beautiful, breathtaking MAC collection I have ever seen in my life.

MAC has collaborated with the couture fashion designer Giambattista Valli, and it couldn't be more perfect. If you've ever seen any of his runway photos/shows, you could see that a lot of his work has to do with floral prints and bright pops of fun colors. Wonderful works of art. Enough chatting, time to indulge in the most glorious of photos.

 I would like to first point out that this is probably the prettiest and classiest box packaging that MAC has come up with.  I think that the packaging of this collection is perfect. Its simple but showing off the color. I know a ton of people who have to dig through all of their mac lips just to find the shade they are looking for and with this, it's super easy because the packaging is the color of the shade.

Just looking at the box, I already knew it was going to be classy colors but at the same time a little daring.What caught my attention, like many of you, was the product packaging. Each lipstick is encased in the signature MAC dome-shaped lid and sleek plastic tube, colored according to the lipstick shade. How absolutely gorgeous. now on to the swatches.

BIANCA

Bianca B, a Matte pale white pink.Its described as a “pale white pink”. It is truly a very pale pink with a strong white undertone. which would definitely wash anyone out unless you have really fair, porcelain complexion.. like, white paper. It kinda reminded me of Happy Hibiscus

MARGHERITA

Margherita is a yellow bright peach with Matte finish I love the color. Its such a beautiful soft orange. This is definitely a color you want to help you stand out. This shade is brighter than I had anticipated but luckily it doesn’t pop too much. Margherita leans more towards nude than orange.

TATS

Tats is a bright hot pink in Matte finish This color Pink should be everyone's go to color. Its such a great shade for any skin color. It has great color payoff with a single stroke and a smooth consistency which covered the lips evenly. Although it’s matte, it is actually quite creamy and not drying at all.

CHARLOTTE

Charlotte is a rich yellow red with Matte finish.You absolutely cannot go wrong with this red. I truly believe that this red was designed with all skin types in mind.This one is described as a “rich yellow red”. It’s a medium-dark red with subtle, cool undertones and a mostly matte finish but definitely had some moisture. It had good color payoff that covered the lips evenly and smoothly.This classic red looks very similar to numerous other reds churned out by MAC, but it stands out from the pack with its creamy Matte finish.

EUGEINE

Eugenie is a dark cherry with blue undertone.It is described as a “dark cherry with blue undertone”. It is a deep, purple wine color with cool undertones and a semi-matte finish. Perfect for a vampy look!
Its more semi-opaque than matte because the natural color of my lips was still able to show through the many layers of the lipstick.

CRYSTAL GLAZE LENA

I’m really glad that MAC chose to release a Crystal Glaze Gloss with this collection. It not only adds a touch of fabulousness by transforming the matte finish to a glossy finish, but it also provides moisture for your lips. It has a unique pearlescent finish and can be worn over the lipsticks or alone.The gloss is so amazing. I thought that because it was in a pot that it wasn't going to be like the usual formula that I love. But it is exactly the same. It goes on so smoothly and my lips always feel great.
I'll try to keep the words to a minimum, because the pictures really say all there is to say for this collection. Absolute perfection.With just five lipsticks and a gloss, this collection is guaranteed to be affordable for everyone especially the hoarders *raises hand*.

ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS SHADOW COUTURE REVIEW AND SWATCHES

As-Salam-O-Alykum...Glam'Yees...
So, If you’ve been following my blog lately you would know that I recently purchased the Anastasia Beverly Hills Shadow Couture World Traveler palette. I have already done a few EOTDs using this palette which you can view here & here.
I own quite a few Anastasia palettes, and each one has been extremely well loved. They are nicely priced, a breeze to blend, and are loaded with amazing shades. They don’t last long before they’re gone though, so I wanted to get this review up as soon as possible.

Product Review : NARS powder Blusher in shade Orgasm

Product Info from NARS Cosmetics, Inc.
Blusher Orgasm:  Peachy pink with shimmer. Made with transparent pigments for a soft and sheer look.  Imparts a natural, healthy glow for any skin tone and may be worn alone or layered together for more depth and intensity.
Retail Price: 30 US Dollar
Available: Online websites/not available locally

  Orgasm blush has always been one of the most hyped products by makeup junkies, considered with all the pros and nothing a con. So, how can I resist not buying it. I’ll say it’s a product which either you love it or hate it. It’s always defined as said to give the glow-from-within- look, which yet another love or hate thing.
   The packaging is sleek and velvet-feeling, rubbery coating. However once you use the product it gets really messy, you have to clean it after every use. It’s a 50-50 thing for me tough it looks chic but I like my stuff to be clean rather than dust prone.

   The blusher shade is multi -dimensional, a peachy pink shade with gold sheen. The shimmer is finely milled .I have such mixed feelings about this blush. It does look so pretty in the pan while I felt that as for a blush the gold sheen is far more dominant then the peach or pink, felt more like a bronzer than a blush. And one thing I can say that the claim that “Orgasm works on any skin tone” is unfortunately not correct. I am an NC 20, and I literally layered it a number of times using a blush brush and it simply does not show up on me. Correction, the shimmer shows up, but nothing else. Its sheer on me and i have to use a few layers to show pink however i get the light sheer look more than the pink, it looks like a bit rosey but more golden sheen on my cheeks which sometimes is a bit too much.

   The texture is okay, but I find that it doesn't blend super well on my cheeks and the pigmentation could be better. When I sweep my brush across the pan, it seems to pick up much more gold shimmer than true color of the blush. The color will surely visible on lighter skin tones but sadly I don’t think this would be a good buy for darker skin tones. And it’s definitely not a universal shade for a blush.

   The staying power was not promising either it hardly lasted 3-4 hours one me, which any regular drugstore blush can last .I have oily skin ,might stay longer on dry skin. I think there are many other blushers that are much prettier, and even that there are probably blushes that are more universally flattering than this and in terms of lasting power. Also, price wise it's expensive for the pigmentation and staying power that it has.

What I like about it...
* Appealing Packaging
* Looks expensive on the cheeks
* Healthy, dewy finish
* Finely milled shimmer
* Highlights a little
* Suitable for day or night
* Visible on lighter/pale skin tone

What I don't like...
* Packaging gets dirty easily
* Expensive compared to quality
* Too shimmery
* Doesn't blend well
* Not long lasting
* Unnatural color
* Doesn’t show's up on darker skin tones

Would I rebuy it…?
Its chic in looks, it’s shimmery but sadly it’s not for darker skin tones and neither for me. I would finish up my current compact using it as a bronzer,but I won’t buy it again.

Product Review: MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation

Product Info from MAC Cosmetics
A one-step application of foundation and powder. Gives skin a smooth, flawless, all-matte, full-coverage finish. Long-wearing: lasts for up to eight hours. A real all-in-one. The choice of pros, and a longtime favorite of M∙A∙C fans.

Retail Price: 179 Saudi Riyals
Available: At all local MAC branches

    This is one of the very first products that I bought when I take about makeup. By far it’s one of the best powder foundations available in market. If you are looking for a powder that has good coverage, great oil control, long lasting and comes in a wide array of shades; this is a wonderful product to try.

    MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation is a one-step application of foundation and setting powder. It gives medium to full matte coverage and lasts through the work day without touch ups when a makeup primer is used. The compact comes with a powder puff that can be stored in a compartment in the bottom, but I don't prefer the sponge that comes with the compact because it picks up too much product from the pan when swiped. I prefer to use flat top Kabuki to apply it. I use the shade NC 20 and it is a pretty good match for my skin and blends in seamlessly, and hiding any imperfections. And easily lasts for around 5-6 hours before touch ups, and after being applied with time it starts to get smoother on skin, as I felt for oily skin especially.
One last thing, for the price you get a good amount of product, .it contains about 3-4 grams more than the average drugstore powder, my compacts lasts me around 6-8 months. And another thing I noticed that the product left on the sides of the compact does not fall off when it hits pan, while with most drugstore brand face powders, they tend to crumble after it hits the pan.

What I like about it...
* Sleek and sturdy black packaging/with mirror
* comes with a non-latex sponge
* The powder is fine milled, soft and smooth texture
* Medium to full coverage
* Superb oil control
* A little goes a long way, my compact lasted 8 months
* Long lasting, about 6 hours before it started to fade away
* has a very mild scent, almost unnoticeable
* Has yellow undertones
* The Powder shade matches my skin tone perfectly
* Travel freindly
* Fulfills what the product promises

What I don't like...
* Expensive
* May not be suitable for sensitive skins
* Clogs pores
* Acne prone skin may get worse with usage

Would I rebuy it…?
Yes, I have sensitive skin so I do tend to get zits with its usage sometimes,so a good cleansing regime is required with its use, but I still rate it as an awesome product
