It’s hot out there, and it’s hard to look pulled together.Scorching sun, humidity and makeup don’t really go well together. We all feel like going easy on the makeup or even skipping it in the summers.
As your body uses natural cooling mechanisms, like sweating, you start melting. Eyeliner begins to drip, lipstick tends to smear, foundation begins to gradually slide down your cheeks and before you know it, you look a little like Alice Cooper.

Amazing Beauty Uses for Olive Oil

*
 As-Salam-o-Alykum...GLAM'YEES...
The only thing I love more than trying new products, is finding new uses for the things I already have sitting around my house. And today we will talk about the beauty uses of Olive Oil.
We all know that olive oil is one of the healthiest vegetable oils, along with coconut oil. Not only can you consume this nutritious food and receive numerous benefits, you can also use it to boost the nutrient value of your beauty products.

Homemade HALAWA (Hair removal sugar wax)

Sugar Wax,Sugaring or Halawa, what ever you want to call its and ancient, tried and tested way to wax naturally. Many beauty regimes do more harm than good because most contain many harsh chemicals. While this ancient Arabic beauty recipe will not harm your body and would save you some good bucks a swell. Another plus of this recipe is with time with the continous use ,the hair growth starts to diminish and it also helps to clean out the pores. See beloe how to make your own sugar wax at home to remove unwanted hairs.

Ingredients:

1 cup white sugar (must be white so you can see it slowly caramelize)

2 tbsp water

2 tbsp lemon juice

1 tsp rock salt optional

2 tsp olive oil

HOW TO MAKE IT

Check out the video below where Maha demonstrates a very easy yet proper way of creating it. The above ingredient list is my take on making the Halawa ,while its your choice to follow the above list or follow that Maha's version of the recipe.

To store:

1. Divide the whole mixture into approximately 2 tablespoon amounts and individually wrap the mixture in cling wrap and keep in the refrigerator.

2. When you need to use it, take out on the packs and heat it in the microwave for 10 secs.

3. Once it heated, it wouldn't be pliable and usable immediately, make sure to play with it again to slowly bring it to right temperature with the warmth of your hands.

Tips:

1. If the sugar wax is too hard, continue pulling and wetting your right hand - just don't be impatient and pour water on it, otherwise you'll end up with sticky syrup.

2. If it gets too sticky, just try to cook it off again to remove excess water.

3. My recipe version of sugar wax is darker than what was shown in the video, so don't freak out if yours is not the same color as Maha's.

BEST MOISTURIZERS FOR WINTER -ALL SKIN TYPES (BUDGET FRIENDLY)

In this post I will just add all recommendation from drugstore for all skin types.

Winter gets the toughest for dry skin people. Skin feels tight or gets flaky patches mostly around the nose, eyebrows and chin. You need to pick a moisturizer that will provide a lot of hydration.

In the morning

- QV moisturizer Skin Lotion for Dry Skin

Before bed time

- Protect & Perfect Night cream from Boots no.7

- The body shop Miracle Argan Oil for severely dry skin

Winter can be the lucky season for oily skin as the oil production becomes the very suffice to deal with the weather dryness so the skin doesn't feels super shiny all the time. Although oily skins have good level of sebum for winter still light hydration is needed so it keeps the skin soft supple and wont weight the skin down.

In the morning

- Sebamed Clear Face Care Gel

Before bed time

- Cetaphil Derma Control Oil free Moisturizer

Winter may have a great positive or a negative effect on combination skin. Combination skin may suffer from conditions of both oily and dry skin i.e dry and flaky at some patches combining with a oily T-zone. Finding moisturizers can be a little bit tough for combination skin, which can deal with the dryness while protecting the sensitive areas.

In the morning

- Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer

Before bed time

- Olay Essentials Complete Care Moisturizer Night Cream

Sensitive skin is technically not a skin type but more of a skin condition. Like the combination skin the winter can be a lucky season or terrible for this skin condition. Sensitive is not predominately dry or oily and it’s more frequently prone to break outs which may be accompanied with dry patches on the skin. You need a moisturizer that is very gentle and provides soothing moisturization.

In the morning

- The Body Shop Aloe Soothing Day cream (If skin is more oily)

- Olay Complete daily Defense Day Cream (If skin is more dry)

Before bed time

- Aveeno Smart Essentials Moisture Infusion (If skin is more oily)

- Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream for Dry, Sensitive Skin (If skin is more dry)

PRODUCT REVIEW: BENEFIT SUGARGLAM FAIRIES HOLIDAY SET 2014

During the Holiday season all companies come up with alluring sets. And when it comes to holiday sets; Benefit is one of them which really offer some of the very awesome deals. Today, I will be doing a short review on the BENEFIT SUGARGLAM FAIRIES Holiday Set.
SugarGlam Fairies is one of the sets launched by Benefit for Holiday Season 2014. It contains a combination of four products. It costs is $45 while its actual worth is around $95 if all products bought separately. Let’s have a view of it.

The package comes in a House shape tin container, which has a cute colorful design printed over it depicting a cake shop. Its looks more like a cute candy box . This tin is a keepsake for later on to store your makeup stash or any other stuff after you take out the inside products.
The inside of the set has a red plastic packing which encloses all the products inside it.
The package consists of three full size products and one deluxe size sampler.

It includes:
-  One Full size Benefit Porefessional Face Primer 22.0 ml
- One Full size They‘re real Mascara
- One full size Hoola Bronzer
- One deluxe size Benetint

This set was a really a good buy for me saving me a whole lot of buck.as the Porefessional ,and the Mascara are one of my most essentials in my makeup stash and I run out of them pretty fast. And Hoola is one of my contouring must haves. And the Benetint is a lovely tint comes in a tiny cute size and its really travel/purse friendly. I’ already own all the products this was my stock up, I’ll review all the products separately.
Overall this set is a great buy if you use these products regularly or were just looking out to try some of the benefit products then this set is a must buy.
Only one suggestion I have is about the packaging, the tin packing is no doubt really cute but I’m not a fan of keeping such boxes for storage s, so I may be ultimately discarding it. Rather than spending on the tin packing, they could have considered adding a simple cardboard box with an addition of another deluxe sampler which would have made this set even a much more attractive buy.
Hope, this was helpful to you.
